DFA designs three experiences that share one philosophy: retail that lives outside, dining that captivates inside, and hotel environments that hold both. Through THINK NATURE®, our proprietary methodology, we merge biophilic principles, biomimicry and advanced parametric geometry with rigorous commercial strategy, turning footfall into belonging, and dwell time into desire.
WHY WE THINK DIFFERENTLY
DFA is built on a combination that exists nowhere else in our field.
The architect who designs your environment is also the strategist who models its financial performance and builds its business case, and the professor who teaches how retail experience is created. Three disciplines that rarely meet, held within a single practice, and led by one mind.
That mind is Professor Debbie Flevotomou. She serves as Adj. Professor at Hult International Business School, and leads the Retail Experience Design module on the MA Interior Design course at Arts University Bournemouth.
This union of design, business and academia is not a marketing position. It is the reason our environments are as commercially intelligent as they are beautiful, and it shapes every decision we make.

Brand Storytelling Through Space
Retail, Outside. We bring THINK NATURE® into the open air. Living, experiential retail environments where biophilic design and moving, kinetic architecture respond to the people within them. Façades and forms that shift, breathe and surprise. The result is wellbeing you can feel the moment you arrive, and a wow effect that stops people in the street and turns footfall into belonging.
Restaurants, Inside. Dining becomes an experience, not a transaction. Through THINK NATURE®, we orchestrate light, planting, materials and movement into interiors that feel alive. Spaces that calm, delight and immerse. Every guest is met with a sense of wellbeing and a moment of wow they photograph, share and return for.
Hotels, Both. A hotel is one continuous experiential journey, from arrival to boutique, terrace, dining and suite, all unified by THINK NATURE®. Biophilic, wellbeing led environments with moving, living design at their heart, so guests are wowed at every threshold and carried seamlessly from one moment to the next.
